Payment Policy
Effective April 2026. Last updated April 2026.
The gist
- 1.Payments are processed by Stripe — PCI-DSS Level 1. Card data never enters Fibidy.
- 2.We use the Direct Charges model — payments go directly to the Seller, Fibidy takes the platform fee.
- 3.Settlement is in USD. Local Buyers see local prices via Adaptive Pricing.
- 4.Double-charges are prevented via Redis lock + DB unique constraint.
- 5.Chargebacks are handled by Stripe. Evidence is auto-submitted from download logs.
Stripe as processor.
All payments on Fibidy are processed by Stripe, Inc. Stripe is certified PCI-DSS Level 1 — the highest security standard for payment card processing.
Fibidy does not store, receive, or directly process payment card data. The Buyer's card data is sent directly from the browser to Stripe's servers over an encrypted connection.
All payment processing is subject to Stripe's terms, including the Stripe Services Agreement and Stripe Restricted Businesses policy.
Accepted payment methods.
Credit and debit cards — Visa, Mastercard, American Express, JCB, and local cards supported by Stripe.
Digital wallets — Apple Pay, Google Pay, and other digital wallets supported by Stripe in the Buyer's region.
Payment method availability varies by Buyer country. Stripe automatically shows the methods available at checkout.
Direct Charges model.
Fibidy uses the Direct Charges model of Stripe Connect. In this model, Buyer payments are processed directly to the Seller's Stripe Connect account, not through Fibidy's account.
Fibidy deducts an application fee as the platform fee at the same time the transaction is processed. The Seller's balance, after the platform fee and Stripe processing fee, is available for payout on Stripe's schedule.
This model means the Seller is the merchant of record for the transaction, not Fibidy.
Currency settlement.
All transactions are settled in USD. The balance in the Seller's Stripe Connect account is recorded in USD.
International Buyers may see prices in local currency via Stripe Adaptive Pricing. Conversion to USD is performed by Stripe at the time of transaction using the prevailing rate.
When paying out to the Seller's bank account, Stripe converts USD to the Seller's account currency using the rate in effect at the time of payout.
Records and audit trail.
Each transaction produces a record that includes the Stripe Checkout session ID, payment intent ID, amount paid by the Buyer, presentment currency, settlement currency (USD), platform fee percentage and amount, and transaction source (Direct or Discover).
This record is stored by Fibidy and is accessible to the Seller via the dashboard for operations and audit purposes.
More detailed Stripe transaction records are available in the Seller's Stripe Connect dashboard.
Payment failures.
If a payment fails due to insufficient funds, a declined card, or other technical issues, the Buyer will be informed by Stripe on the checkout page and can try again with another payment method.
If a Buyer's payment is pending (asynchronous payment such as a bank transfer), the Buyer does not receive access to the product until the payment is confirmed by Stripe.
Fibidy does not charge for failed payment attempts.
Double-charge prevention.
To protect Buyers from double-charges due to double clicks or network issues, Fibidy applies a temporary lock per Buyer-product pair during checkout.
If a Buyer tries to start a new checkout before a previous one completes, the system will temporarily block it with a message to wait.
A database-level unique constraint provides an additional safeguard — a single Buyer cannot purchase the same product twice.
Disputes and chargebacks.
Buyers who feel there is an issue with their purchase may file a refund through the Platform within 7 days. Details in the Refund Policy at fibidy.com/legal/refund.
Buyers may also file a chargeback through their card issuer. Chargebacks are processed by Stripe under their policies and the relevant card network rules.
When a chargeback is filed, Fibidy's system automatically gathers and submits evidence to Stripe, including product description, Buyer email, and download access logs showing that the Buyer accessed the file.
Sellers who receive 2 or more chargebacks may be subject to automatic account suspension under the Seller Agreement.
